Clock has a mind of its own.

My clock seems to come on and off when it wants to. I remember seeing a post about how you could fix it. Could anyone give me some info, or for those of you that can search fix me up with a link to the old thread?

My clock does the same thing, but I just give up and consider it quirky.

If you guys don't know how to solder, then I'll be glad to do it for a small fee.

The easiest fix is to apply electrician tape over the face of the clock. Problem solved!

Same here. Sometimes it'll be ok, then I turn on my headlights and the clock goes blank. Later turn my headlights off and the clock comes back on.

I fix mine with the "thonk" method....every time it acts up, I "thonk" it with my finger. Problem solved....

Harrymay, come to the Houston meet on Sunday (Van's Skate Park, I-10 and Silber, Sunday 2pm..) and I've got a spare I'll give you for $20.

Maximka, it will probably work on yours too, but not positive. I tried to fix one on a Z32 a while back but couldn't figure out what was wrong with it.

Welcome to a well known issue with the 3rd gen, my 89 still does this, I dont worry about since the radio now has a clock in it.

Yes, of course. But it's nowhere near as elegant as Electricians tape.
