Idle jumps when stopped....

It's kinda strange, as I pull to a stop, or just sitting at a stoplight, my idle starts bouncing around, and once in awhile the car dies! What could be the problem?

could be a vacuum leak. my car has one and does the same thing. you'll have to check your hoses and make sure none have holes in them and whatnot.

Nah, I'm pretty sure it's not a vaccuum leak.. it was more gradual, and goes off without warning kinda sparatically but only when the RPM's are about 500...

I have the same problem with idle jumps....i thought it may have been the transmission, or at least that's what I was told.

Could be the cooling fans kicking on and the thermostat openining up. My idle bogs down and jumps up when this happens.

Yep IACV thingy , Prolly either aint working properly or has a small leak inbetween the gasket surfaces, Ud be amazed , the smallest hole will mess up everyting , I would double check all those little vac hoses on the back side of the manifold like Mark said iv had that problem and it was the iacv and a small crack in a vac hose.

had this issue on my 626 when the intake manifold gasket had a leak.

you could also do an injector cleaning and TB cleaning incase fuel delivery is an issue or you have a sticky plate...cheap things, but I doubt they'll solve your problem.

i have an issue somewhat similar. my idle jumps up and bounces around in between 1000-2000 rpms when i put the tranny in park or neutral. i've checked the maf, o2 sensor, iacv, shift lock and i still can't figure this bastard out! i've neglected to check the tps though. it better not be that because i've had a spare one kicking around for a while now
today i started wondering? if it was the drop resistor? anyone agree or have any other ideas?

oh i also have a shotty speed sensor...but i doubt that it is causing these problems because the speed sensor issue popped up after the idle issue.
