Regulator or Motor

When I try to roll the passenger side rear window down, I only hear a loud noise like something is stuck in a gear. Is this a window regulator or window motor problem?

Also, my antenna mast is fully extended but when I turn the radio off I only hear the motor. Do I only need to buy the the antenna part?

Thanks.

its most likely your regulator. they are notorious for failling. ive replaced three of mine. There is a wire that come loose which is probably the noise you hear. is you window up though? when mine broke the windows fell into the door.

If you hear the motor going then 95% chance it's you regulator.
I sell regulators and motors

Actually, I bought the car knowing the window was damaged, so yes it was up. Now, I'm trying to fix it.

The sound I'm hearing is an awful grinding noise not a normal motor sound like I have from the antenna. Just wanted to make sure I shouldn't buy the motor too.

The grinding noise is probably the wire cutting into the guides.
I know that some people have been known to stick all sorts of things in the door to hold up the window.
I had a match book holding up mine, another guy has wood holding up his,

Back to the antenna. I think 4dsc.com has a write up on replacing it. Your motor is ok. It's just that the antenna is pulled down with a motor and a pulley, and I think there is a plastic part that breaks. I think your motor is ok. Anybody know of any good fixed mast antennas that look good and don't retract?

i put a jetta type antenna on after my stock one broke. it was super cheap and gets fine reception. i think it looks good to but it could look really bad if your car isnt black cuz it won't blend in. oh btw, i put it where the old one was i don't like them on the roof like they are intended.

The grinding is probably your cable wound up on your lower pulley. Its grinding on itself. Very common for any cable drive system. I replace these alot in all different cars. BTW Honda's are the worst for regulator problems!!
