rear sway bar links broke

hey, i had my addco rsb on for almost 3months now, and i just noticed today a *harsh* sound generating from the sway bar support braket on the left (the little bars that hold the "U" brakets on" I looked at it and one part is "pealing" off the frame of the car. every time i hit a small bump it rattles.

-question- how long can i ride like this, cuz its really cold out and i can't work in the cold..

thanx in advance

Suck it up and pull the bar. I did mine in 15 minutes and just threw it in the trunk until the new links get here.

mine is still on, with one link nothing wrong there, just don't go through the twisties at 60 and you'll be fine. My links I bought from Matt should be here monday I think. I'm excited.

Chris it should be fine until you get the replacement. Are you getting matt's or from the dealer?

Yes. Matt said he ships them with self tapping screws. My understanding is that you just cut the old brackets off of the frame, center punch where you want the new screws, and drill two small holes. Then you bolt the new ones on, connect them to the sway bar, and your done. Easy!

Correct. you just need to cut/grind/remove the factory bracket on the frame, then I send some stronger angle iron pieces with self-tapping screws with the kit. just mark the holes and drill with a 7/32" drill bit. (they're like $1 at any hardware store)... then just mount the new angle iron onto the frame rail, then the rest of the parts bolt right on just like the factory piece. all hardware is included. all you need to do is cut the old bracket off the frame.

For those of you who don't want to do the self-tapping screws, you can take them to a muffler shop and have them welded on... It's no necessary though- mine have been on the car for about two years with the self-tapping screws and haven't come off yet.
