Weak Heater

My heater hasn't been working up to par for about a month. Which wasn't a huge problem until Punxsutawney Phil (bastard) forcast 6 more weeks of winter..and its been cold here.

I mean it works and blows warm air, but if I turn it up to the highest level it seems to not get any hotter, just more wind chill. Which has the opposite effect.

Any suggestions would be great.

Thanks in advance..

Thermostat stuck open? Replace thermostat.

Fresh air vent in 'fresh' position? Make sure lever is in the down position.

Low on coolant? Find leak, fix, top up.

Air in heater core? Is your car 89-91? If so, raise front bumper 39 inches off the ground, remove rad cap, let car idle for 1/2hr with heat on full, watch air bubbles blow out rad cap. If it's 92-94, just let it idle with heat on full, rad cap off, and watch the bubbles. Remember to keep topping it up.

I'll give the "air in heater core" theory a shot and let you know how it goes.

Thanks for the info RCY

Thermostats next if that doesn't work...
