They wont PLAIN IT!???

Soooo, my manifold got a lil warped... Left at my mechanics, to have it taken off and plained down and put back on all sealed proper again... Aong with some other stuff that needed doing... I call him up in the after noon to see how things were goin, he tells me that the manifold is 1/16th off and that that guys he took it to to have it plained down, said it was too "tinish" or some junk and that they wouldnt touch it? What the F@#k is that... Ive gotta '92 SE with the VE 3.0, and I guess I have to buy a new manifold, so my real question here is this - Does anyone make a nice aftermarket piece worth the $$$ or do I gotta go find new stock equipment? - I figure if i cant find used on e-bay i might as well look for a better piece when buying new. Any comments would be nice!

Thankx!!!

Are you referring to the intake plenum (on top), or the intake manifold (below the plenum)?

If you are an automatic, I have a plenum I could sell ya, email me if inerested.

tell the shop they are dealing with an import, not a domestic.

not really, but nissan's cast iron is actually extremely good. it can be cut with a cutting torch very well and it can be welded very easily. it is a much higher quality cast iron than most people seem to deal with.

Yea, its the exhaust manifold... I gotta 5speed, basically, it looks like i just have to get a new one, unless i find the means to plain the dilly myself -not happening- for now, it has just been cleaned up and a new seal was placed on... Supposed to get her back today, we'll see if she quieted down at all, I got my fingers crossed!!! Thanks for the input guys!
