Spark Plugs
Spark Plugs
Ok, I know that this topic has been killed on here, but I need to know which spark plugs are the best for the VG? Also, any certain plug wires that I should get too? Or should I just get OEM plug wires? Thanks.

But I cna't remember if it was only the platinums or not.
i was one of the bosch platinum victam's. thanks to those damn plugs my max has been running like ****. after i changed them and went back to NGK's it ran good for a little bit and then the problem came back. the idle is crappy now. everytime i accelerate its like the car needs gas and i lose alot of power. so stay away from Bosch platinums!!!
If you have a VE, stay away from the Bosch plugs. They tend to not want to work correctly with the coil packs and can cause "spiking." This information came to me straight from a Nissan Tech who is on this board (not a 3rd gener, though). I have no idea what the Bosch is like for VGs, but it sounds like they are kind of hit and miss. Your best bet is to go with the stock plug (NGK). I think some guys use copper ones, some use platinum. I think the only difference in the two is longevity (and cost) though.
NGK V-Power Coppers
BKR5E-11, you'll spend less than $15 total (or atleast I do, lol) and they work great. Plus they are the plugs that are supposed to go in your engine. Dont waste money on the iridiums and plugs like those. Platinums are OEM VE, but I just use the coppers.

interesting thread, I've got some occasionally misfires, and I think the plugs/wires are bad on my VG.
Anyone have a final suggestion on the best VG Plugs, as well as a better set of wires than OE ones? I'd asppreciate it

HAH, thats funny, those are the same as Autolite 3924, same ones as in my Dodge stock :-) Always found them to be a good plug in copper form, but when you go to the long life materials like platinum, they are juts not as good at transfering the spark. They are meant to live long, not give better performance. I am gonna toss a set of old plugs in from the Dodge and see what happens, I change plugs in that thing once a month, 800HP is hard to maintain ;-)

hahah what kind of car?
I use 3923's in our 318, but I was thinking about trying NGK on the next change. Oh I also put MSD wires on just for kicks and giggles hehehehe.

99 Dakota R/T, I actauly have to go with at least the 23's and try to get 22's cause I need a colder plug with my setup.
