Hey everyone, I am a newbie to the world of Maxima and I think I have a J30. I am not sure because it doesn't say anywhere on the car or on the paperwork I have for it. The only thing that leads me to believe it is a J30 is one of the owners manuals has it on the outside cover. But nothing on any of the purchasing paperwork. Is there any way that any of you know of to research mabey the vin#? It is loaded with I think everything but a spoiler. Leather int., elec. everything, sliding elec. sunroof, abs, the works. It is in very good condition and was wanting to get the lowdown on it but I want to make sure I'm looking at the right info.. Thanks for the help.

go write down your VIN number...
then go to http://www.maximdriver.com and click "free carfax reports" on the right side. Then you can punch in your VIN and it'll tell you everything about your car and it's history.

A J30 is the Nissan designation for the 3rd gen max. Kinda like how the 90-96 300ZX are also called a Z32, same idea.

Dave, sounds like you have an SE.

A few ways you can tell, SE's have:
Black mirrors
Body color grill
Dual outlet muffler

There are other things, but this should help you figure out what you have.

The J30 is the series of Maxima's released by Nissan between 1989-1994.
For Australia between 1990-1995.
