Power door lock weirdness

I noticed something strange on my '92 GLE, when I use the key to unlock the doors, the locks resist me and stay locked. As I turn the key to the unlock position, the power actuator wants to keep it locked, until after a few tries. When I use the keypad, they work fine. Anyone had similar problems?

Yes. Maddening isn't it. I usually end up using the keypad all the time. Dunno what I'd do if it stopped working. Anyone have a solution to this problem.

hahha...i got the same prob, as do quite a few others. i started a thread about this before....i forget what they said the prob was. i was too poor to fix it. besides, it doesnt bother me too much cause it usually trys to lock again when i want to open all the doors. i usually open just the driver side...and if i cant get the rest to open on the 5th try, i just open mine and use the unlock button inside the car. or if it refuses even just the driverside, i can hold it to the unlock position and just pull the handle and the door opens. it also seems to do this more offten when its very cold out. during the day its not bad.

....but yes, sometimes it can make you just want to hold that key in that open position till the actuator breaks!!!!!

I had the exact same problem in my GXE. When I took out the door panel, the metal braces from the door lock were very sticky and reluctant to move. Bought one replacement and cleaned the hell out of the other ones. Total tim 2 1/2 hours. Was it worth it? Hell yeah! My keypad doesn't work anymore!!!

My door lock doesn't go all the way up anymore. It's like 1/4' down. But other than that it works perfectly. Don't take it to a mechanic or to a dealer because they will charge you an arm and a leg for the repairs.

Well i dont have a clue what could cause that but how about my craziness...when i close the passenger side doors it will cause all of the doors to lock. It doesnt do it all the time but the times that it does happen is when my keys are in the car and of course the car is running.

Yeah it sucks. Sometimes im stuck at work for 10 minutes trying to open my doors. Because i bought the car used so i didnt know the combonation for my keypad. But i just reprogrammed the keypad so no more fighting with the door. I tried some WD-40 before and it didnt work. I think its something electrical thats wrong.

Whoo hoo..

i had that happen to me today for the first time..i tried to unlock the door with my key and it unlocked , then locked itself, but i did it again and it worked..also(my car is Very Tempermental) the clock only works on certain days, and my driver side keypad never works and the passenger one worked fine but for two days this week it stopped, but know it works again...i guess 1992 was a bad year for the locks in Maximas

I read about this problem a while back, because my car has this problem too, I think its the door lock actuator, under the dash on the driver side. When it dosent work, I can hear it clicking under there. I read about a fix, you have to soder (sp?) or replace it, but I cant find it in the FAQ or anything
