Rear Windows won't go up or down

Hello,

Does anyone have a suggestion for rear windows that won't go up or down? I bought my 91 Maxima that way so I don't know what happened.
When I push the button I can hear the motor trying to do something, but nothing happens.
Someone mentioned getting a regultor or something. Please help! I don't have AC & I am dreading another sweltering Texas Summer...

James

Is it a big deal to replace the regulators, or should I pay someone to do it?

do it yourself, It's easy enough. just takes 3 tools IIRC
a philips head scredriver
a 10 mm wrench
a hammer

because the frickin' screws that hold the motor to the regulator get stuck.
and I've found that hitting the head of the screwdriver while trying to turn the screw helps break them loose.

Yup! The regulators! I am sure the cable snapped as always and the last owner had the windows tied down with the broken cable so they don't keep sliding down......mine was that way....all windows except drivers!
