will one work on a maxima, I have heard it but no proof yet? And if so whats the advantage?

 

no one that i know ofhas tryed it on a vg

it would have to be one from a pre 90 300zx but those had the same HP as your car so i dont think there would be any improvment

 

You can get the z32 one to work with the VE engine but its not a direct fit, you need to change somethings.

 

i've attempted to wire in an earlier 300ZX Turbo ecu. It was from an 85 I believe. I had to solder so many wires together and redo many others. When I finally got it finished and plugged it all in it was a no go so I said screw it.

 

what did you do? Buy an upgraded ecu?

 

no, he just got a JDM turbo engine

 

I was thinking that he wanted a better ecu with his turbo so that is why he tried the 300zx ecu.

 

i'm running the engine off of the stock maxima ecu and attempting to control it with the s-afc buts its still running rich so i tried using the Z ecu since it would have the correct fuel and ignition maps but it was a no go. i think bernard (the guy tuning my spare ecu) might have figured out what is wrong so hopefully soon my car will be running much better.
