Auto trans problem?

It's a '91 SE. The car runs and shifts gears fine, but it won't go into park anymore. Fluid levels are good, everything seems normal, but I can't shift up into park at all and thus can't get the key out of the car. Any ideas? Is this the start of something bad?

yes it may be. BTW what are your mileage. Try your best not to drive it so you can get a cheaper price to do a rebuild on it. My car is having troubles shifting so it's going to cost me about $900 to fix instead of the regular $2000 to fix a non working tranny.

It has 108k miles. I thought about the linkage, but everything else seems in perfect line...Should I just get it checked out for that for now?

108k miles only. Check the linkage. I have a good 227k miles so it was time for a service on my behalf. That is good mileage on a 13 year old car. It doesn't hurt to have the tranny checked out though. Just better to be safe than...sorry.
