Rear speakers quit?

Today I installed a new cd headunit in my '91 GXE. It works great except the rear speakers don't come on at all. I double checked all the wiring and its fine. The only thing I can think is that it has something to do with the "Active Speaker System"...whatever that is.
Anyone else have this issue come up? any ideas?

Thanks

Did you use a wire harness? I did and I noticed that I didn't have a amp turn-on for it so you might have to cut a few wires in the back.

Your rear speakers don't work because they have a seperate amplifier which you need to disable. You can see it in your trunk, it is that round metal thingy underneath the rear deck on the left side with the wires running out of it.

Here's what Matt Blehm (a maxima audio expert) said about wiring the speakers for the Non-Bose (ACTIVE SPEAKER) components.
once you remove the amp, you'll have a connector with a dozen or so wires. the ones you need to connect are:

Large/ Small
----------------------
Green/ Black-pink
Yellow/ black-yellow
Orange/ Orange
Blue/ Light Green
Cut and connect those wires and you're good to go.

Thanks for the helpful info. I finally got back in the dash and managed to hook up the "Amp turn on" wire. I guess it just didn't occur to me that I had the amp, its such a small thing hidden out of sight. Now all the speakers work great!
