failed attempt at vtc rewire

Last night i did the vtc rewire on my max. Everything went to plan, and i went by the write up on craig's page. I took the car out for a spin after i was done, and the vtc's were still making noise. In the write up, he uses the solenoid nearer the front of the engine, and i used the one further away, thats the only thing i can think of that i did differently, or is it something else?

if you used the yellow wire then you just dont have a good enough ground probably.

Although there have been some reports that some VTCs were so bad that the clicking remained or came back after the re-wire.

I'll bet mine would be like that if I were to try it.

(but I still want to try it, MrGone!) hahaha

after checking the ground, and finding that it was good, i decided i'd also check the power of the yellow wire, i removed the ground and there was no power through the yellow wire when the car was turned to on, i'm pretty sure it says in the write up that it is supposed to have power, could that be cause of the failure??

The other wire would have power (positive) when key is on, if the yellow wire had a B+ and you hooked up a ground wire to that, it would blow a fuse man.

Here is a mystery for you guys to solve. I grounded my vtc's and then went to start the car, but the car won't start. Not a sound from the engine. When I disconnected the ground it started up. Also when the car first starts up, there is no noise until it warms up. solve this one. HA
