Parts fit into the block. Probably. Why would be a good question here. Both are iron blocks.

Or are you assuming the VG version is somehow stronger?

the vg30e(t), ve30de, and vg30de(tt) all have the same bore and stroke so the rods and pistons of the vg30de(tt) should theoretically fit. what's nice about the tt rods (and crank) is they are forged and i hear are supposed to handle about 600 hp in stock form. the pistons are cast however so they probably don't handle as much.

the blocks are most likely not interchangeable though.

Why don't you just drop in the VG30DETT? It bolts right up.

First off, the vg30de or the vg30dett do not bolt right up, they dont fit to begin with.

Rods and pistons are a direct swap though, both myself and MadMax024 have done it. Are cars are running great to this day. Besides, you would want to keep the stock rods because they have oil squirters in them, and the vg30de ones do not, theirs are on the block themselves. They are both forged and same size, so they can probably take the same power. Seeing as how you are asking this question, i would worry about power issues yet.

I dont know if you could use the crank, I'm doubtful because the VG has a timing belt, we have a timing chain.

Yes VG30DE(and TT) Rods and Pistons will fit in a VE. Infact you can use VE rods and VG30DE pistons or anything, the VE and VG30DE pistons and rods have all the same specs.

Now if you want to put VG30DE parts in your VG30E you need to use both VG30DE Rods and pistons. You cannot put the VG30DE piston on a VG30E rod.

a couple suggestions..
1. proper English.
2. proper punctuation.

I can barely understand what you're asking on half your questions, and I can't understand it at all on the other half.

im pretty sure they got the rods/pistons out of a non turbo VG30DE because the TT version has lower compression so the pistons are proboly different unless the combustions chambers are bigger

well actually you're only half right.
my pistons are from a DE, julio's are from a DETT..so now there are 2 full points of compression that separate us. both motors run excellent..neither of us used the rods because of the oil squirters on the VE rods.

How is your car running now? I thought I read you were having problems of some sort? And julio is running the lower compression TT pistons but running it na for now?

The rods don't themselves, but the have squirters at the base of the cylinders.....

Lucky for you guys, my buddy Brian (schuss) is doing a complete motor rebuild and swap on his 91 Z32 TT.

You can see the squirters at the base of each cylinder V pair:

Shot of the rod, but no, they do not have squirters:

All these pics belong to schuss.

i'm having all kinds of stupid problems, but its all sensor related..the motor is rock solid sometimes, its just everything around it seems to be falling apart..whatever, i blocked my EGR and its running a ton better...still a few loose ends i need to tie up..for now i'm all over the suspension (read sig), but its proving to be a bit more costly than i thought. its getting warmer out so i'm more motivated to work on my car so things will get done alot faster along with more new stuff coming out (read: lower intake spacers in addition to TB and upper intake spacers i have currently...shameless plug, $65 shipped for lower, $25 shipped for TB...PM/email/IM if you're interested)

you will need a real wheel drive to do the swap, then most likely a new suspension. its a lot of money but
if you can afford it..

It might do in other markets - esp Japan. After all the US 300Z is known as 300ZX in non-US markets, the 240/260/280/300Z was also known as Fairlady in Japan (don't ask...), the NX2000 is known as 100NX in UK, NX Coupe in Japan, Stanza is Bluebird in UK / OZ / NZ / Japan, US Sentra is either Pulsar or Sunny in NZ, OZ, UK, Japan etc. You kinda get the point...
