Alternator Whine

I just installed my amplifier for my rear speakers today and I keep getting that freakin alternator whine. I just want to know some good areas for a better ground because the one I have right now is sucky. If possible please post pics of your ground conection.

Thanx.

I take it your amp is in the trunk right? I just grounded it out by screwing the wire right to the floor of the trunk, which stays nicely covered by the carpet.

Yes my amp is in the trunk. Do you get any type of whine? Did you drill a hole or used one of the screws that are already inside of the trunk under the carpet?

I grounded my amp to one of the nuts on the strut tower. I dont know if thats close, you can also gorund it to a seat belt bolt. Just make sure the surface it all bare metal. Also make sure none of your speaker wires are bare and touching metal.

I had the same problem. If you have a stock stereo it's probubly burning out, and you probubly have the remote wire from the amp to that stereo.

I changed my stereo and the noise went.

No, I haven't gotten any whine from my alternator. I just used a self-tapping screw and a lock washerto screw the wire down.

(let me know if the pic doesnt show up)

This is in the area right behind the driver side strut tower under the carpeting on the side.
