R.i.p. Ecu....

turns out my ECU is fried...

I need to get a replacement for my '92 GXE.

What cars have interchangeable ECU's??

also, does anyone know what sorts of things would cause an ECU to die?

Anyone got a cheap ECU to sell?

Thanks!!

I'm pretty sure you'd have to get another ecu from a VG auto. If you had a stick, you could use either auto or manual ecu. I dont know if you can use the VE for sure but I would guess that it wouldn't work.

do you think the '90 SE ecu is interchangeable with the '92 GXE?

when my ecu went out, i was told you had to match the numbers that ore on the cover. i think they were blue or something, but i had mine rebuilt so it didn't matter.

I'm a bit new to the maxima world - - does this mean that the 1990 DOHC SE ECU is the same as the 1992 SOHC GXE ECU???

I'm a little nervous about getting an ECU from a SE....

90 SE is SOHC
92-94 SEs are DOHC

aaahhhhh... - -like i said - I'm a maxima newbie... ...the learning curve is steep.

ok - so that ECU has a better chance of working than i thought. Do i need to be concerned with serial numbers printed on it, as mentioned above?? or can I just swap it in and expect it to run?
