I have a 91 SE (Canadian model) with the auto temperature HVAC controls. In the past few months, the unit will suddenly shut down without warning. This usually lasts for 2-10 minutes and then it comes back on again. There seems to be no pattern for this to happen.

I was prepared to put up with this problem but several days ago, it went off again while it was rainy and humid. The windows quickly fogged up and I became more concerned. I am worried that this may happen again during inclement conditions and I will need to pull over until it clears itself.

Anyone else experience this problem or know what it is? Am I in for big repair bill?
