$771.15 Ouch!!!

Well, been trying to fix this bucking problem for some time now on my VE motor. Finaly tore it all down and found the following:

-All 6 injectors are leaking slightly, you can see them ooze fuel slowly when pressure is in the lines.
-knock sensor is cracked in a few places
-ks harness is coroded VERRY badly.

So, went to the dealer that I get my happy 25% discount at and here is my bill:

Water hose (one broke) 16.89
6 injectors (84.83ea) 508.98
Throttle body gasket 3.66
Knock sensor 123.06
KS harness 20.20
2 intake lower gaskets (23ea) 46.00
Thermostat 8.71
sub total 727.50 with tax = 771.15

And that doesnt include the 2 valve cover gaskets and upper plenum gaskets I already had going into this job. Oh, and the 3 coils and crank sensor I bought off of one of the guys here and ECU and PTU off of ebay.

If this don't fix it, I am gonna be ****ED!

what have you replaced so far?

MrGone was here Sunday and we checked a lot of things. I tried a new Crank Sensor, new MAF and also did the KS bypass to check for problems and I still have the bucking/stalling problem.

Keep us updated,

chris

well, I have a 91 also and found all the sensors pretty much are teh same, and the old motor worked great. I swapped the following so far:
Throtlle sensor, temp sensor, o2 sensor.

Also got a cam sensor, powere transistor, 3 coils (old ones in front were cracked) and engine controller.

Finaly decided to dig into the not so easy parts and found all the injectors were leaky, so that is probably my main problem. Figured while I was there I would take off the lower intake and look at the KS and found it cracked and coroded. So I just said F it and got all new injectors, KS, and KS harness so I wouldnt have to take the top of the motor apart again.

If this dont work, last thing is the MAP sensor, but I dont think that is it because I drove it in limp mode without the sensor and it still bucked. I am fairly confident I have it now.
