Guage install problem

Finally got around to putting in my glow guages. It was a pretty smooth, steady install. Everything was looking good until I put it all together and got on the road. My speedo needle would skip about every 5 mph when accelerating then get stuck at 15 when I slowed to a stop. I was only able to check the tach once I had them in and before I put the rest of the dash back together. I think the problem is the double-sided tape I used to hold the guages in place, but what do you guys think?

Here's a really bad night shot of the guages. http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/397303
I'll take some better ones and possibly a video of the speedometer freaking out tomorrow.

Mike, maybe the needle is sticking against the overlay. Just a thought, because I had a similar problem when I put MY gauges in. Might wanna pull your pod again and doublecheck the clearance between the bottom side of the needle and the top surface of the overlay, just to be sure.

(oh, and PM or AIM me... I gotta ask you something)

I just put new gauges in my maxima recently and had the same problem. I finally just put the gauge cluster back in the car without the plastic cover and pulled the needle out just slightly then put the plastic on. If you pull the needle just a little bit you can feel a second "notch". If you try to keep it on this notch before you put the gauge cluster back in, it will probably fall back into the lower notch.
