My buddy just got a 1999 Grand Am SE (auto) and he wanted to race my 1992 SE max. I though, sure why not. First race got cut short when there were some joggers, but I was a head by 1/2 a car. At the second race we both pulled up to a light and we were ready to go. As some of you know, after my car has been going a little quicker than normal, the pickup sucks. Anyway, the light he green and he got a two car jump on me. But once I hit 3 gear it was all over. I went flying past him a 110 and easily finished 2 cars ahead of him. The third race was the best by far. We both turned down a side street, and with a rolling start took off from about 25. It was close untill we hit 60, then he quicly started fading.
Anyway, it was a blast. Can't wait to race this mo fo in my city that has this probe he won't stop saying its the fastest on the street. I want to find out for myself :-)

Are you auto or 5sp? Mods?

Does he have the 3.4L v6 or 150hp I-4?

 

I have the 5 Speed, Bone stock pretty much. K&N filter, and my www.maximaclub.com sticker (an extra +5 HP!).

He has no clue what he has at all. But I think I saw V6 on the side. Im not to well educated in Pontatic Cars.

Yo if u have a 5spd why couldnt u kill him of the start. Pontiacs suck, specially with an auto. The 1 u raced was definatly a v6 because my mom got 99 pontiac i4 and that **** is slower than a neon..

 

i lost to a pontiac grand am once but he had 75 shot nos...go figure...dam sleepers

 

I couldnt take him from the line cause my car runs like poop untill 2nd gear for some reason. Stutters and ****. If i were to hop out and unscrew the gas tank and get back (that fixes the problem) Then I wouldnt have had any problem at all.
