Sounds like a good deal.... I had an opportunity to get a 92 325 (4 dr., auto, forest green w/ tan leather) a while back, but it was about $4000 on top of my car's trade. I decided against it because the added status didn't make up for the following reasons I liked my max more:
1.) I don't like the BMW interior/dash. Its just too 'german' for me.
2.) It was smaller than my Max
3.) My max could KILL it power wise
4.) I hate automatics
5.) Do I really want a car with more status? The insurance, theft risk, added maintainence costs, and worry that goes with a more expensive car...

Uhhh, have you driven or ridden in a 325?
I highly doubt the power of your VE would kill a 325. No, they're not huge on power, but they're not bad either.

Then you take into account the comfort and style.. I'd take a 325i over my max anyday.

I'd go for the bimmer too!...

Who cares if it's an automatic, I don't think White93GXE is looking for a car to race in and mod the crap out of. If you are looking for a nice comfortable car which is fairly reliable, I think the bimmer is a perfect choice.

I drove one of those old 318 coupes which was probably a 93 or so, for a 1.8 it was lively, the seats are comfortable, visibility is nice but I don't like the dash board, it's angled towards the driver and it's all squared and stuff... I like my max's dash much more.. but the ride comfort of those bimmers is great. I'd take that deal, it's low milage and sounds nice.. I think the 325i has 189 hp stock, so it's not all that slow.

**** i want a bimmer!!!

good choice..actually i think your gonna be stickin with bimmers now on ratehr then maxes hehe. they are reallly great cars, and soo much fun. the engine might be somewhat smaller, but bmw either works the gearing aweseom or somehow they just make it feel like the car flies. my mom has a '01 325 convert, and its got only 184hp plus its auto, and dayum, the power is ALWAYS there when you need it.its not the fastest off the line, but i swear it has the same kick going from 20-40 as it does 80-100. the handling of them is greeat too, so much fun driving my moms car hehe. your not gonna regret it at all, its gonna be a fun car, good choice, and i think the staus is a positve totaly..hehe may even help with the chicks hehe, your friends not gonna borrow the bimmer, your gonna be having to much fun with it.. good chioce, if i was you i woud have done the same thing.

eh yo, my friend has a 90 bmw 325i. Its a good car. But there are a few problems to consider.
BMW's transmissions usally go up to 150000 miles & then there gone. My good friend's car , the 325i, just got it back from the bmw dealership & they were like, most bmws under 95 usually have trans that go up to 150000 miles. So im not sayan that its definaltly gona happen to you but, make sure that the trans is ok.
The Engine in bimmers are pretty strong so i dont think you have to worry aout that much
whateva your desicion is, make it a wise one. Good luck

hell no max 4evr ........

NO, i had a 92 325i, and if u are looking for power go wit the max because the bimers power only kicks in at about 40mph, so u absolutely cant kill no one at the stop light. If u want to pick up chicks thats a different story...

150k??? woa, mine went at 86,000... I'd have a bunch of nice mods now if not for that ****ing tranny! 150,000 is a lot of miles, if they usually go to that much, that's not too bad, I've heard of people with much bigger milage and tranny is still good, depends on how it's maintained, kind of driving, etc...
