Tranny Cooler!!!
I want to install a tranny cooler in my 91 SE. I looked in the shope talk section and the car they were modifying was a 1999. So I would like to know if someone had done this to their cars and what kind of cooler did you use? thank you
install is pretty much the same as that...
i used a B&M which i obtained from www.carparts.com
Hayden is another good brand to look into...

Mount the cooler betweeen the bumper and the grill. I would also strongly recommend changing the ATF fluid to synthetic when you do this, particularly if you live in a cooler climate. Regular ATF, like motor oil, gets "thick" when it is cold. This thick fluid is hard on the transmission, and with a cooler it will take longer to come up to operating temperature. The synthetic maintains its viscosity to much lower temperatures than regular ATF, and is easier on the trans.

Just to warn you, if you use the B&M ties that are provided, it's a real pain to get the plastic fasteners on the back. You have to put the ties through the condensor and then put the fasteners on behind the condensor, but in front of the radiator. Plan on tearing up your knuckles, but be easy on the radiator fins. Also, if you use the B&M you'll need about 4 ft. of *Transmission Fluid Line*. The only place I found to run the line back to the tranny was through a small hole beside the radiator (driver's side). It is just barely big enough for both lines. Last thing, be sure there's no kinks in the line as they can easily occur when you're running the hoses. Good luck with it!
