Fuel filler recall?

Fuel filler recall?
Long story short, getting crappy gas mileage, someone said something about a fuel filler recall, I rewired my speakers today and underneath the backseat it was pretty rusty in the gas door area...did mine probably rust out?

The point of this recall is not rust ... but left side safety belt's box which doesn't hold (mounted on the rusted area in the trunk - same place where the fuel filler). So it is not a "rust" recall but "safety" recall.
PS: ... and yes ... this are inside of the trunk rusted out on my maxima too ...

I just had mine in at Nissan for some other work associated with when it was stolen (ignition swith, door lock etc...). I have noticed a fuel leak in the rear. When I fill the tank all the way, a small puddle of gas starts to form on the ground. I can drive a couple blocks away and it stops. So for now, I just don't fill it all the way and it's fine. I asked the dealer about the recall, figured it might be connected in some way. They checked my car according to the recall notice at no charge but said they didn't find anything.
Any other suggestions out there?

Have a dealer run your VIN through their system to see if the recall work has been performed. I'm having mine done now for free; the previous owner didn't get the notice.
Best of luck!

Upon looking at that picture, the tube I replaced might have been the evaporative hose. At any rate, the best thing to do is to crawl under the car and figure out which hose is leaking, and take it from there.

So what do we do if our seat belts are rusted off too. My dealer said they didn't "find anything" either. I've had to replace the fuel tank straps too. I think nissan should buy back the severe cars like mine. They're a deathtrap waiting to happen.

I called the local Nissan dealership today and asked about a recall...they said it was probably closed and didn't care to check my VIN or anything. So later I called that 800 number 94M@X posted (thanks!) and a polite woman there told me it has not been performed on my car and was still open...that dealership's gonna get a little visit tomorrow...
