Major puddle has me scared as hell !!
I was on my way home and this guy swerved over into my lane and forced me into a HUGE puddle of water. About 8-10 inches deep and about 10 feet wide in a somewhat radius. I tried to stop before I got to it but before I knew it I saw steam coming from under the car and engine. I pulled over to the side of the road and cut the car off to make sure any water that was there would run down(hopefully). I then checked the filter and it was a lil wet but not drenched. I started the car up and it ran fine all the way home (about 1/4 mile) but I noticed the oil light was now on. When I parked it I let it run for about 30 seconds to make sure it wasn't going to hydrolock. I restarted and all the warning lights on the right side (battery, oil, etc.) were on. Now I'm like WTF??? I hit the gas a lil and they turn off accept for the oil light so now I'm like GREAT, DEATH TO MY LIL VG THAT COULD !! I'm going to let it dry out tonite and go start it up in the morning and see what happens. I'm hoping it was just a few wet harnesses(which isnt a good thing anyway) and that she starts up just fine in the morning. Then......OIL CHANGE AND ENGINE FLUSH !!!

So do you have a cone filter or an aftermarket CAI or something? Even if you do and a little water sprayed up to it I wouldn't worry much. One way that people clean their motor is by SLOWLY letting water be sucked into the intake. I would think that you would know it if your motor hydrolocked, it probably would have died if it got too much water in it. I have sucked seafoam into my motor before to clean it out and it would almost kill the motor if you did it too fast, but it didn't hydrolock.
