Wiring question

I tried to wire a "power" rearview mirror to maplights/sunroof controls yesterday. Is there some sort of a "ground" trigger for sunroof? Or in other words ... there is a constant "power" wire for maplights and sunroof (always on - can't use this one) ... 2 open/close sunroof wires (can't use these two) and a ground wire ...
Is it a "ground" wire (black one) that disconnects when ignition is off? If so - how maplights still work? Are there 2 "grounds", one for sunroof controls (black wire) and one ("click" on therights side of the unit) for maplights?

Anyway ... should I use a black wire (ground) to disconnect mirror?
Thanks!

OK ... I found a "power" wire. There is a hidden connector with a fat white wire in it on the right hand side (where the passenger's sun shade is). It is very hard to reach but if you'll be wiring anything (like self-dimming rearview mirror) - that is the wire to use.
