Rear BBK interest. Custom brackets, Z31 rear rotors 1" larger
yeah someone said that.
the stock wheels just barely hit the caliper bracket at it's highest point.
I'm currently driving like that (and with the one side done)
so it's not too bad, though I probably have a groove in my wheel now where it's rubbing.
I may take pics tonight when the other side is done.

The calipers will fit easily after about 30 seconds of grinding. On a side note, I havent noticed any problems at all with brake bias, and I have stock front brakes with generic pads (I assume). Those rear calipers suck though, retracting the piston is a *****.

Ask for pics. Alumin ones will have the cooling fins.
http://importnut.net/300zxbrakeswap.htm#MC this is a very nice website for general info. It's for a 240sx but so what? hehe.
Yes you need the custom lines available from. Automax/Derrick/Matt93se etc.. 13" cobra rotors with either the rings (hard to get now) or drilled to the maxima stud hole size. And my brackets to move the caliper out to accomodate the rotor

took me about an hour total for the one side. that includes bleeding the caliper (replaced it) and doing the cut on splash shield (?).
the bracket fit perfectly. though I wish we could angle it a bit to give the needed clearance for the stock wheel. I'll probably clearance the bracket tonight.

I sold the wheels and tires that I was going to use. because I needed the money for the tranny, also sold my project car.
I only did the half (literally) job because I only had about an hour to do it in.
and that side had no pad left and the pad backing plate was held to the rotor that I had to bang it off. so I did that side to at least get some brakes back.
second side is done!
the stock SE rim clears it just fine from what I can see (no marks on the rim)
but there is something rubbing, I will be doing more investigation.
I'm less than thrilled with my pedal right now it's probably the cheap calipers I used :-\

Another set sold. 2 sets left.
Lordrandal has the rear bbk w/ the following front set. 300z calipers, 300z rotors. (not the 13" Cobra rotors). Reports a nice even braking from the addition of the rear bbk brackets and Z31 rotors.

I will also want a set as soon as I can afford them. That should be in a month or so. I'm not sure if any will still be available from this batch then, but hopefull there will be another batch after that.
One question about the front, if you don't mind. I want to go with a BBK for the front as well but would like to switch back to stock rotors for use with stock wheels in the winter. What calipers can I use to go with either Cobra or Z big rotors that will give me the best performance but also be able to fit under a stock wheel once I switch back for the winter? I'm contemplating using a set of I35 17" wheels for stock replacements and could possibly use those for mounting a set of winter tires, and go with a set of G35 18's for summer use, but I'm not sure what kind of spoke clearance I would have with the I35's to use with bigger calipers. I'm just not sure if I can use something bigger and better than stock calipers and maintain swappability with my wheels without having to switch calipers. Whatever advice or direction you can give will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I'll probably have a set of rear brackets still.
The ONLY way you will be able to run your stock 15s is to swap the stock rotors and stock calipers back on. G35swill clear everything with no problems as I've run them (and have a set for sale). I35 wheels probably will not work. G35 17s might work though.

I had 5 new sets made. 1 set is already going to Phasta (eventually!)
James said he was interested.
So that leaves 3 sets left unspoken for. $75.00 shipped
I don't get these made that often so get them while you can.

I'm interested, but need to come up with the dough. I actually started messing with my rear drums to have a look inside and the rear passenger side bound up and wouldn't come off. I've since put it back together since I have to use the car for work. But I really want to fix the back brakes, hopefully doing the whole rear drums to disk thing asap. Keep me in mind for these brackets and I'll let you know when I can do it. Thanks.

Ok I'm lazy and tired as heck, and all doped up on pain-killers. So A. This is still going on right? B. 75 shipped for what exactly?? C. It will fit under the stock 15's? D Was the ebrake issue (from page 1) solved?
Thank you for understanding how hard it is to keep ones eyes open and type in Vicoden land.
Oh Oh and one more thing. If I just have say... Brembro front blanks and upgraded pads, is this really worth it??

Sorry for the delay James. Sent today. BTW. I had a prepaid usps postmark that was in the car when it was stolen. If you get a box of poo poo, it wasn't from me. I'm hitting your trader rating now man.
I have 3 sets left.

did someone say something about grinding on the WHEELS for caliper clearance?
dude that is WAY not cool, very unsafe. Have you ever seen a wheel break while doing 70? Scariest Sheet Ever!
Oh, and btw, I have an '89 SE w/ rear disk, what do i need again? I'm interested.
