How many colors were available on 3rd gen Maxima's? I'm not sure if I've seen them all, I'm just curious. Here's what colors I've seen...

1)pearl white
2)black
3)red
4)seafoam green (not sure the real name of the color)
5)sky blue
6)burgundy
7)white
8)dark green
9)charcoal grey
10)tan

What colors am I missing? What do you suppose is the most rare? I think it's probably red. I'm just bored at work, so I'm sorry to waste your time if you don't like this post.

 

I bet Kaleb can give you a break down on all the colors.. I know that between 89-94 there were a few statics.. but several that changed between 91/92 year.... at least I think so ... I can look it up at the paint shop tommorow if Kaleb doesn't produce... I would "assume" that the light seafoam/sage metallic green is the rarest... I think it was only around in 89... and maybe only on the GXE's... other than the wrecked gxe I have I've never seen this color on another max... even on this board...
several have the neptune blue (as it was called on 4th gens) but I would assume thats close behind in scarcity.... red isn't as rare as people would think though.. black, dark grey, tan, white are probably the most common..

The dark green you listed is what I have, called Black Emerald. There was also a very dark blue. Don't know it's proper name though.

 

there is champagne which everyone would consider gold and I know that I have seen a brownish color max. Pretty ugly I thought. They seem to be pretty rare.

 

aren't there a couple of different colors of white? I know mine is like a super white or something. Then again, this might have just been available for the SE...

 

I am not sure if that is what it's called, but that is what I have... I've only seen this color on 92-94 cars,
in all the gazzilions of 3rd gen Maxima's that ride around NYC, I've seen maybe 3 SEs like mine, and maybe 5 GXEs in the last year or so....
THe red is rare, also, there is a brown color, which is probably the most rare.. I've seen it once, on a 92-94 GXE.... looks good.

the rarest are indeed the Aztec Red, bark brown, and light green.
the neptune blue is next in line, then the black emerald is somewhere after that..
Then you have your "common" colors.
white, pearl white, champagne, black, both shades of grey, sky blue...

 

Where can I find the number code for the factory Nissan color of my car. Does the plate on the inside of the engine bay give the correct number? Mine is charcol gray. I wanted to order some touch-up paint.

 

well i'll tell ya the burgundy is called Ruby Pearl you can find the color code on the metal plate on the firewall..i know mine was someting like the letter A and a couple of #'s.

 

is the brown a for real paint or is it aftermarket? I bet sales weren't so hot for that color....the ONLY maxima color is....(besides the continual maintainence)

 

yeah the brown is a real color..not aftermarket...theres a few here in sac i see from time to time....i think it would look better if it were a little darker pearl brown...i saw that color on a mercedes once & thought it would look good on the max. All the brown max's i've seen looked really dull.

Please note that these are named so that parts folks can distinguish them easier. Because "Icelandic Pearl" doesn't quite tell you what the color is. All the color names like this and "Black Emerald" and "Ruby Pearl" are just marketing names.

you guys forgot one color- Sand Grey - the color of my 89GXE
I thought it looked pretty cool with tinted windows when I had it and you never have to wash it like you do with a black car

i have never seen a light green one before. anyone one here got one. also i dont think ive ever seen just blue. ive only seen the darker metallic blue.

 

Well here in Australia we have the following colours.For Nissan Maxima's 1990-1995 (3rd Gen).

326 Super White 1990-1995
Pearl White 1990-1992
Burgundy Pearl 1990-1992
AL0 Burgundy Wine 1993-1995
Dawn Blue 1990-1992
Sand Grey 1990-1992
KH2 Charcoal Pearl (Metallic) 1990-1995
CG2 Champange Pearl (Metallic)1992-1995
TH1 Dark Blue Pearl 1993-1995
DJ2 Dark Green Pearl 1993-1995

These are the only factory colours that came with Nissan Maxima's released in Australia.
All Interior colurs came in a Black or Grey between 1990 and late 1992. From 1993 to early 1995 Came with black interior only.

 

I called Nissan's Customer Service and found out that the exact color of my Maxima is Charcoal Pearl.

 

That's "Satin White Pearl," affectionately known as "Oatmeal." I'm glad to see that you ranked/listed it #1.
