Silverstars

Will installing silverstar headlights (is 9004 the right number?) in my headlights cause my headlight harness to short out/burn up? I know other people have had theirs burn up from different headlights, will silverstars do this? Should I "upgrade" my headlight harnesses?

No, the Silverstars won't burn out your harness since it uses stock wattage of 45/65 for low and high beams, respectively

Personally I dont like silverstars
We have them in the 5th gen and have had to replace the bulbs twice in 6 months, and we only drive with them on at night.

I've had better luck with run of the mill superwhites, but I heard that only the USDM silver stars suck and that the german ones (or something) are really good.

Yeah, think people here have mixed responses when it comes to Silverstars. I personally like them, and haven't run into short bulb life issues.

Nubiannupe recommended some XD5s off of ebay, so I tried them out. I think they were just a little cheaper than Silverstars and they are noticeably better than stock. They have just a slight hint of blue to them, but they don't seem really ricey and I have had them in for five or six months with no problems.
