Rubber thingy under the gas pedal...

Any one ever take the rubber stop off of the floor under the gass pedal so that the pedal can travel all the way to the floor? Does this help performance?

there shouldn't be any reason to do this
have someone push the gas pedal (car off) all the way down while you look at the throttle body. It should open all the way. If not, adjust the throttle cable (in the FAQs).

if you remove that stopper, it'll just stretch out the cable

I don't think that will make you go any faster, but you could buy those wheels that I'm selling from the classifieds and that would get you some extra HP

Seriously though, it shouldn't do anything unless your throttle cable is not adjusted properly. Maybe I should double check mine to make sure it opens the TB all the way when floored, hmmm.

I think it's more of a "hard plastic" than rubber. I doubt if you are missing anything.

If I have a white metal thing showing "under" the gas pedal, am I missing something? I think I would be, but who knows.

Bah! I would take a picture, but you all would laugh at me

i do believe you're missing the black plastic piece that is found on there. i've taken it off before but there is no poin since the butterflies in the tb are opened all of the way (when the cable is adjusted properly).

there is always the possibility of over opening the butterflies.
At least there is on a carb.

on our throttle bodies there is a stopper on the tb itself as well to prevent that i believe.

Ninety-two-se, maybe you can answer this for me, if I buy the supercharger hood scoop thing, would I have to point the front towards the passenger side of the car since the motor is sidways? I just don't know if it would work right if I put it on facing the front of the car.

In my situation I need 2 since I have 2 superchargers(2 on the roof since I have a midengine set up)... you should get 4 and face one to the front.. one to each side and one to the rear... that way you cant miss... plus with all those scoops you will need a big ricey wing to go with it... maybe 2 ...

Edit: Ok lock this thread up... we have the info we need... it has just gotten off topic and dumb

you know, i've actually looked into a blower setup on a vg before. i found a company who makes a intake manifold for a carb. throw on a nice carb and then toss on a blower. the blower scoop should be able to be pointed in any direction. i may actually look into trying this at some point. i have my maxima's vg that i can try it on but i'll need a car to do it with. i found a datsun 280z that i could swap my engine into so i might actually try it with that... that would be pretty sweet seeing a blower sticking out of the hood of either car (if the blower is actually functional)
