digital guage display and hud

Hi I am having a problem with my digital dash display and heads up display...they seemed to only work depending on if it was very warm outside...now they are not working at all...the guy I bought the car off of told me that he unhooked the battery every year for about 6 months while he travelled and kept it stored...would this have any effect on why it is not working.

It is not working because it has gotten old and stops working. I don't remmember if it's due to solder or capacitors or what, but it is like alot of cirucuit boards and breaks down. I don't know if you can use regular gauges or not. The digital dash is expensive from Nissan. Somewhere there is/was a guy mentioned on the forum I think, that repairs those digital dashes-so do a search, or try a google search.

Common thing for the digital dash. The computer on the back goes out. Mine did the same, first it would take 5 minutes in cold weather to come on. As time went by it would increase and increase until it finally quit.

Nissan charges over $1000 just for the part, a bunch more for the labor. The unit is very very very easy to remove. I took the whole unit out and mailed it to a guy for repair. Cost me $300. He guranteed it for one year. That was about three years ago, works fine still.

I posted the site in the past. If you can search, you'll be able to find a couple places that repair them...

Just think though, now you're not running the mileage on your car
