dealer badge...
I just took my dealer badge of less than a week ago. My car is seven years old and pearl colored, so you would assume that there would be some fading. There is no fading. Taking it off is as easy as heating it up with a hair drier and peeling it off using your fingernails.

same situation
I have this queer VOB Nissan gray UGLY badge about 3x1 inches on my trunk...It is SO ugly and I hate it. If I take it off I cna just picture the paint peeling off and me having a nice big white spot there....which will look TERRIBLE on an all black car.

they didn't invent touch up paint for nothing, kiddos.
just be careful and you should be fine. I have never heard of problems fading, except on the very light colors on the plastic parts. the metal parts (trunklid) don't usually have problems with fade.
I'd be more concerned about rock chips on the hood than fading paint.
