Accelerator pedal sticking !

I get in my car today and I thought it was something behind the pedal but there wasn't. I stepped on it and it was like it was stuck just a lil before it started to go down. It's been happening a lil bit here and there yesterday. I dunno what it could be. Possible throttle cable being too tight? Anybody else have this happen to them or have any suggestions? I don't wanna end up trying to hit the gas and

sounds like the throttle cable is either coming apart, dirty, or rusting. disconnect the cable from the throttle body and you should be able to pull it back and forth by hand pretty easily. if not, then there's your problem.

I've had this happen several times over the years. Every time so far it's been a lot of dirt caked up at the top of the pedal arm under the dash. Who knows how itgets there, but I cleaned it off and shot some WD-40 on it and it's good for another couple years.
