Window Auto Down Switch?

I'm not too sure what its called, but the oval thin switch, is it supposed to make my window go down all the way?.... Because it goes down with me tapping it like 3-4 times. Not sure if thats right, can anybody tell me if thats right or not, and if not how can I fix it?

Thanks in Advanced.

no, it's supposed to go down all the way when pressed once. i had that problem and tried to fix it by soldering. i ended buying a master switch from yard since the other buttons weren't working, and now it works fine. i also did the auto up mod, so it goes both ways

Yeah mine goes down in intervals of 1/3, so when I hit it once it goes down 1/3 of the way, twice 2/3s down, it worked a couple times when I first got it...I don't know why?

Yeah...resoldering will probably help both of you.

actually, I dont think resoldering will help anything much here
these boards are a lot better made than the clocks and door lock timers and use surface mount components - which are a lot harder to solder. Also, they're a lot smaller parts - it uses a lot of 0805 chips (.08" by .05") so it's definitely not for someone who doesn't have training soldering things like that.
I fixed one switch for a friend by replacing one of the zener diodes (ZD2) on the board and a couple of the resistors around it. The problem is getting that part though - I was able to just pull it off another old board I had.

so basically I think you'll need a new switch

Craig do you have an idea about how much the switch would be from a pull it yourself junkyard, also could it be possible that that ones messed up too, I'd like to do that auto-up switch too, but seems pointless when I don't even have an auto-down.

It really varies by yard, you'll have to go check it out or call them up. I'd say anywhere from $5-50.
And then you still have a used switch so I'd recommend getting it from the dealer.
You can easily try the auto-up thing. It'll take you about 30 minutes, if that. I'm not sure if it'll work or not though
