When the Engine starts I see the A/T switch (P)flashes like 10 or so times. What's the problem?
it's a 91' SE Auto.
Thanks.

There could be a problem with your tranny. The light flashes to tell you that there is a problem somewhere within the transmission. Turn the car off and leave for about 10 sec's and try again. If it still flashes you with have to take it to a Automatic machanic. It might only be a small problem, then again it could be bad. Have you been driving your Max hard? Does the it slip in gears?? How long has it been since your last tranny service?? Hope thinks turn out kewl for you.

First, count exactly how many times it blinks...
I believe there might be a pattern on it too.. like 8 blinks, then a pause, then 2..

but if it's 10 blinks then a pause, 10 blinks, then pause.. that means the tranny is detecting high pressures in the valve body. that could indicate that there's something clogging it, your drop down resistor isn't plugged in (or dead), or that there are more serious problems..
if you'll just make note of the EXACT pattern when you start the car, post that here and I'm sure someone will be willing to look it up in their service manual and tell you what it says. (the FSM lists what each of those patterns mean, if you didn't get that part already.)

I'll try to remember to look back on this thread, but if you don't hear from me by the end of the weekend, email or private message me and I'll be glad to look it up.
