Oil Pump??? or Worse

I have picked up a 93 SE and plan on turning it into an audio demo car for the car audio store that i own. the car is in good shape, but one thing really concerns me. when i start it there is a loud clatter coming from the engine. after the car is warmed up it does not do it. sometimes it will do it while driving, but i just have to give it a little gas to make it stop. What do you guy's think???

VTCs. They incorporate oil flow into their use, so they can clatter when oil is cold and then stop when it is warm. You can ground them to ged rid of the noise (could lose power) or rebuild / replace them (mucho labor involved).

Since the nice weather has me in a good mood, here is the direct link that shows you how to ground them, thus eliminating the noise (for awhile, anyway) . http://www.geocities.com/bracecraig/maxima/vtc/vtc.html
