Car does not move correctly

After start my car or stop before traffic light, give pressure to gas, engine speed increases, but the car does not move untill 2 second later. Even engine speed is very high, the can just speed up slowly (my car has 6-cyl). It is not normal.

Appreciate any suggestions.

Good night

Sounds like your tranny is pooched. Check the colour of the fluid, if it's brown and smells bad, that is a good sign that she's given up. maxima Automatics are not exactly known for long life!

How many miles? Check the automatic tranny fluid level. Does the engine seem to rev freely and highly and then the trannsmission slips into gear and finally starts moving?

120,000. I just asked Life Time Auto to change tranny fluid last saturday, but it did not remove the problem. And Pepboy flushed transmission about one and half year agao.

yes. the car move slowly. But after speed up (on high way), it seems ok. As for engine, after I start my car, idle speed is not stable, the car has vibration.

Thanks for your help

Yeah, go to www.car-part.com, find used tranny close to your area, go get it, call every place in town until you find a cheap one, have it installed. I found a tranny for 495, and got it installed for 300. Done deal.
