MAF Adapter, Jeff?

I think I am going to put a pop charger on my Infiniti (I am hoping for better MPG with gas at around $2.40/gallon here) -- the MAF is the same size as ours, so all I have to do is find an MAF adapter.

I wanted to know if anyone had finally found one that fits our cars right without any drilling/cutting/ghetto rigging?

If not, Jeff are you interested in making one? I thought I saw where you mentioned that it was kind of a PITA, so if not, I totally understand.

BTW, I took pics of the midpipe. I will post them as soon as I get it all installed. I haven't had time to put it on the car yet.

thanks,

chris

See if Warpspeed can make a batch for us. I know some people in the #4dsc chatroom were trying to find some as well.

well, there are some on ebay, but they are too small (I think for the 4 cyl MAF).

I had LittlePiggie make mine before all of the crap came up with those CAIs.

Maybe at lunch sometime next week I'll get in touch with Warpspeed. If anyone else is interested, call them or post here. I am usually pretty busy during the week (in the day time) but I'll try it.

I remembered one time my brother in law bought a maf adapter for 92 to 94 nissan maxima but he put it in his 1992 mustang 4 cyl and I assume it fits directly bolt in.

IIRC you need to get one for a 300Z
or if enough people are willing to put up, I'll have some made.

I could make one for ya. I have some 3" pipe scraps pefect for the tube. I has some sheet metal but need a better way to cutting. I'll have to see what my dad's drill press can do.

Are you satisfied with the midpipe??

Here it is installed. Sounds loud as f#ck. I know that the hoses are too long, but I didn't have anything to cut them with. One of them was free and the other was the minimum they would sell me (it was like $4). Looks great other than that and works perfect. Oh, yeah, you forgot to put an elbow in the pipe by the firewall, so I improvised. I will do another thread when I get a few.

Yeah, most of the e-bay adapters don't fit. Trust me I know!

Actually for the elbow. That midpipe is the same way as another popular currently made unit. Theirs also didn't have the elbow done that way. Just a straight piece of pipe.

What I did (I think as this was some time ago) was to reach down to where the tubing is connected (the engine side) and twist it. That allowed the tube to fit on the midpipe w/o the elbow.

I believe you can cut the hose with pretty much anything. Cutting them clean is the hard part. I would carefully draw a line all the way around the hose and the use a very sharp knife and cut along that line. Most guys just cut and end up not cutting where they started from. hehe. *cough* Mr. Gone and Sarin *cough* hehe.

No worries, Jeff, it worked out fine. I just used another piece of 3/4" hose and the original elbow and that's fine with me.

Same with the hose. It's a little long, but fully functional, so I will leave it that way until I get bored and want to fix it/cut it or buy nice silicon hose or something.

Thanks for the pipe, Jeff. I don't feel like starting another thread, so if you or anyone else wants to see all of the midpipe pics, they are on page 7 of my cardomain (www below my sig) towards the bottom.

I just got one installed into my car. I work at a speedshop, and while flipping through some catalogs, I found a MAF adapter for "NISSAN V6 ENGINES" so i ordered it. It is made for 4.0' filters. It's running fine in my car now. I will post pictures as soon as I can. Let me know if anyone is interested, I can order some.

This is for my Qx4, so really, I just wanted to help with mpg.

send me a PM here or on NWMax on the price and I'll say if it's worth it to me.

Thanks,

Chris

Well looks like I won't be making any. Maybe if I'm extremely bored.

It appears no one wants a midpipe either.

Hot stove midpipe. hehe.

Don't worry about using something else for the couplers, it's what some other popular cai maker uses in their systems. It's actually pretty nice.

Goes good with silver.

I'll be interested in a MAF adapter if you are going to make them. I'm thinking about getting an accord CAI but I really don't want to take my chances on some other MAF adapter. Jeff pm me if you can make one.

Paul didn't order a Piggie CAI .
Also Piggies VG version is just like the WSP/Place Racing ones, the one that goes in front of the battery was only made twice (he called those Version 2).
