i recently bought a 89 maxima from ebay...and i went to put my intrax/tokico setup on...and i realized the i dont have standard lug nuts on the wheels...they are like an 8 point socket...does anyone know where to find a tool to remove these lug nuts...i went to 5 different auto stores today and none of them had anything...the only one i found was a 12 point for vw's...i even went to the snap-on website and they didnt have anything either...any info would be appreciated..thanks

snap on website, or the snap-on TRUCK? they have tons of stuff on the truck that you'll never find on the website.. the guys that run them are usually pretty good as well.. if they don't have it, they'll point you to a place that should.

1. check the glove box/arm rest, maybe contact PO.
2. Snap-on does make a universal lug nut remover kit, I know this because I have used it 2 times on cars in my old high school shop where kids somehow rounded the lugs with an impact gun . I believe MAC does aswell.

Sounds like you got ricer nuts.
or lock nuts.
If you have access to an impact gun use a similiarly sized socket and pound it on then impact the nut off.
That's a cheap but PITA way to do it.
The uni remover is much easier and only like $20 IIRC Lisle makes one I think

matt - i went to the snap-on website...what is this snap-on truck that you are talking about
mrgone - i saw that snap-on made universal remover kits but my lugs are completely round on the outside and an 8 point star on the inside...like an 8 point socket...they are female...so i need a male to remove them
internet - yes they are ricer nuts...but not locking...and i cant use and impact gun because the outside is completely round...i need to use a tool to insert into the lug nuts to loosen them

try McGard's website or contact them..
http://www.mcgard.com/
I had a set of lugs like that a while back... possibly send them a picture of the lugs on the car and see if they can help you with it.

Well, I had a locking set several cars back that I lost the "keyed" bolt (the male part) to and I used a pair of vice grips and a rubber hammer to get them off.
then, I just went to the junkyard and put four lugnuts from one of the floorboards of a junker in my pocket on the way out. They didn't match, but they worked until I could buy another set of locking ones.
I would think going to a tire shop would be a good way to go. On something small like that, they will have the male piece for a few dollars. Generally tire stores are cool about the small stuff because they want you to come back and buy the big stuff (tires and wheels).

sounds like you have the same lugs i got when i bought my wheels got o a rim shop that sells rims and lugnuts and shwo them your lugs they will probally have the "key" you need to use with those lugs but you have to go to a rims shop not an auto garage or somthign they usually dont have them. i got my key at "rent to roll" when i lost mine it is a place that specializes in rims and stuff so i dont know what you havr around you but check into one of those places. good luck

I'm sure you already tried/thought about this... what about the seller? If the seller doesn't have it @ least he/she can tell you where it came from. Also, I used to hide mine in the console under the plastic piece by the e-brake.
Good Luck
