Hello,

I'm in major pain right now. The steering wheel was turned to far to the left and the steering wheel is locked. The ignition key won't turn and I can't start my car. Anyone know a problem os a fix. I can't straighten the steerong wheel and my tires look rather straight.

Please respond asap.

Thank you,
CrazyCuz

Its a safety devise (sort of), when the steering wheel is locked the key wont turn. I damn near stripped my ignition when I first bought the car because I didnt know what the hell was going on. Your steering wheel should move a little bit, if it does try turning the key as you move the steering wheel as far as it goes, you just gotta play with it...hope that helps.

ok i'm not exaclty sure this is the way to disable it..but if u look at the ign key cyl you see a lighted right around it...pop that off and if i remember correctly there's a switch or something u flip back there that will release the steering wheel..but i may be wrong...take a look.

solution

this happened to me a few times. the first time I had no clue what to do....To unlokc oput the key in the ignotion and while ur trying to turn the key...turn the wheel left/right hard like slamming it to the sides. After like 3 times it'll unlock and you're in business.
