91 Maxima Strange Front End Noise

My maxima drives fine until I get up to about 70-75 mph and a loud rattling/vibration noise comes from the passenger side (sounds like it is coming from the front wheel area). There is no vibration of the car - just this wierd noise and as soon as I slow down a little bit it stops. Sometimes it happens around 65 mph, other times not until 80 mph and sometimes it doesn't happen for a few days - regardless of how fast I am driving. Can someone please help me with this? Thanks a lot.

Wheel Bearing?

Is it maybe a wheel bearing? Someone please answer because I have been going through the postings here b/c the search function is messed up. I need to get some input so I can get an idea of how much it will cost me.

heh, this maybe totally off base, but if your nose bra isnt correctly anchored it will flap pretty loudly at high speeds, however i wouldnt reccomend driving at speeds of 80+ until you figure out the root of the problem, that certainly isnt safe.

mostlikely its your wheel bearing(s) does it get any louder when you turn one way or the other? I had my wheel bearings replaced recently because mine would start vibrating at 40!

Nose bra?

I don't have a bra on my car. I was just thinking, though, that there is some kind of plastic insert in the wheel well directly in front of the tire. There is a screw (or two) missing from it and the air resistance is causing it to rub against the tire?

It mainly happens on a particular stretch of road on my way home from work where there is always a head wind. I am going to put replace the missing screws and we'll see what happens on the drive home today. I will post the results this evening.

It gets a little louder the faster I go - but does not get any louder if I change lanes or am turning at all.
