Tranny Fluid Question!

Hi everyone....
Im thinking of changing my auto tranny fluid next weekend and thinking of using synthetic fluid (castrol Transmax Z). Anyone ever ever changed to Synthetic fluid before?? Im also thinking of changing the fuel filter. Im wondering is this a hard job?

Thanks

I changed my old auto's tranny fluid to synthetic Amsoil right before I sold it. To get most of the old fluid out, drain the tranny pan and refill with synthetic. Then pull the return line from the transmission cooler on the radiator, and place it over your catchpan (empty it before you do this). Have a friend crank and run the engine until ~2qts of fluid comes out. Then stop the engine, pour the fluid into an old gallon milk/water jug, and fill another to the exact same height with new fluid and pour it into the tranny (this is my ghetto method for precise measurement). Continue this process until the fluid coming out of the return hose is bright red (aka new). Then check the fluid level to make sure it is ok.

As for the fuel filter, that is an easy job. It is right on the firewall. Just make sure you relieve the fuel pressure first.
