after looking for months for another 5 speed VE, (ive owned 2 in the past) im about to give up my search. i right now have a very clean 90 GXE auto that my girlfriend will not use anymore. only 113K mles. i just put my 2K2 wheels on there and im preparing to do the rear disk conversion. i have sprint springs in the garage but i think id rather go with the eibachs.

i was thinking about converting it to a 5 speed instead of getting a VE. i know the VGs are very realiable and be pretty quick with a few mods. i know some here have done the tranny swap. what my questions are: do i have to use a tranny from a VG, will VE trannys work too? to VG SEs have limited slip? will i have to get new axles as well?

i really hate to drive automatic. this maximas is one of the cleanest i have seen in a while and i know it will be perfect for me as a 5 speed. please give me your comments to the people who are familiar with this swap. thanks.

Please do a bit of reading in this forum.. this swap is talked about at least once a week, and I know I've personally handed out the answers at least half a dozen times.

 

thats a hard swap..y dont u just get another nissan and keep the gxe like it is..ever have an se-r?..ive got a 13's se-r

its for sale though. i want a fun family in one car instead of having instead of having 2 different cars.

luckily, i actually found a 92 VE 5speed yesterday and i bought her. and i said they were hard to find. im back again in a VE finally. its been so long

so now i am going to sell my se-r and my GXE maxima.
so i can start doing some work on the new max. thanks for the replies though.
