112? 115? bolt pattern on a non center cap rim question

well the rims i have right now have a pattern slightly smaller or bigger then 114.3 and they will fit on the car but you must force them and i dont think the tuner lugs will fit once they are forced on. i didnt force them on because it would mess up my studs. is there a way to file the rims on the holes out a little to make them fit or, can they be redrilled slightly to make them fit? also will a 215 tires on a 7.5 inch rims with 48mm+ offset fit a 3rd gen good or will it stick in to much?

you probably have GM FWD full size rims, they are 5x115.
you can oval the holes, but I don't recommend it unless you have the proper equipment and washers / nuts to go with the ovaled holes.
You used to be able to buy wheels with ovaled holes and an assortment of washers to fit GM or Ford.
Haven't looked lately though.
Of course those were also non-hubcentric wheels, RWD and done on a machine to guarantee balance and a perfect center, something you CAN't do by hand.

LOL yeah the very first set of rims I got for my Chevelle were that way. The old Keystone classics. What a pain in the butt those things were.

ok then, here is my next question. these rims have a +48mm offset, if i was to buy adapter/spacers that where 1 inch wide, would they stick out to far for a 3rd gen maxima to tuck. right now i have 235 series tires on my maxima and they tuck. and the tires rims are only 215.

Do some math...
1" = 25.4mm..

you're dropping the offset by that much..
you're a 48mm offset now. subtract 25.4 from that..
that's 22.6mm offset now. I'd venture a guess that would be FUGLY.

Just buy some wheels that fit and don't try to southern-engineer them onto the car.

i had a set of 8.5s on with a 22 mm offset, they stuck out about 3/4 inch, with a 8.5 inch rim and 255 series tires its ugly, but with a 7.5 inch rim and 215s it probably looks good. and these wheels look good on the car

Just listen to Matt93SE and don't "southern-engineer" them (I like that one, Matt!). Just sell them and get some wheels that were designed for our car. Something with the right bolt pattern and correct offset.

okay, what size are these things with the 215s on them? anything bigger than 16" will look stoopid anyway. those tires are skiiiny for this car unless you're sticking with stock wheels.

wait a minute...you are a southern (TX) engineer (electrical)...

Its a good thing you are or I would be offended by the statement .

Now if a dang yankee used the term then it would be fightin' words.

And yes I am fully aware my time line is wayyy out of whack

Oregon and Washington were part of the Union during the Civil War. Oregon became a state in 1859 and I think Washington was a couple of years before that. So, yeah, Shawn we are Yankees. Even though my mom is from a long line of folks from Alabama and Florida, so I am like 1/2 a southerner, without the drawl, hehehe

Hey, matt90max -- do whatever you want. Just please don't come back here with a post in a couple of months with the title: "why does my car shake real bad on the freeway?" or "how much is it to get my bearings replaced?" etc.

Well my reference to being a yankee has nothing to do with the civil war. Its just to us southerners if youre not from 'round here your a yankee. I am kidding around anyway because of the southern engineering comment by matt.

I wouldnt put those wheels on my car either unless you had your hubs redrilled or something.
