Lcd Clock
Lcd Clock
Hi I'm new on this form.
I have a problem with my lcd clock, it's like super dim when I drive around. But when I touch it even gently it glows perfect. The second I realease my fingers, it dims out.
Anyone else got this problem or know how to solve it?

Welcome, check out the FAQ posts at the top of this forum. Lots of good info about this and other common problems with these cars.
Basically the clock just needs to be resoldered and it'll work normally.

I lost my spare harness for testing the clocks on the bench anyway.. one of these days I'll get another.

having a harness to plug it into makes testing much simpler and failsafe. last thing I want to do is blow up my $500 power supply when I short a pile of alligator clips together because I was too cheap to just buy a harness from a parts car.

You just need +12v on two pins and ground on another. In automotive wiring, ground is the same as -.

negative (-) is floating ground as far as i remember and ground is earth ground...
maybe, its been awhile and I dont have the links to your site anymore (besides I dont think its open dir. anymore either). It was just on the floor in the garage in one of the pics.

Hmm... unless it was this one on the floor, the only other one it could be is my 50A, 14V power supply that I use to keep the battery charged at car shows.. 8 awg quick disconnects, about the size of a shoebox? that the guy?
Carver, which Carver? I've only got a small pile.

Let me guess, you have a 26 inch TV?
Nah all jokes aside that some serious stuff you got, that power supply looks heavy.
EDIT: took out pics.

LOL!!
Umm, it's a 32".. nothing too fancy. I'm more interested in sound than video, plus my eyesight sucks. from 20 ft away, I can't tell the difference between HDTV and non-HD on my dad's 56"

the power supply itself weighs about 50lb.. not too heavy.. the amp on the floor weighs about 85, and the other amp I built for a Sr. Design project weighs about 100lb-- and it's got an aluminum case!
