The reason i ask is because I just got done installing my torque converter from Edge racing and the bolt holes on the TC don't line up with the flex plate. Now the tranny has to be lowered again and i have to call edge on Mon. to tell them the problem and be without a car for a week (I have to ship the tranny back and wait for them to build me a new one). In the meantime I was wondering if my sales rep. thought my car was a VG instead of a VE and therefore wondering if there are 2 different automatic trannys offered on the Max.

Well of course the VE and VG auto trannies are different. I think there may even be a few different trannies for the VG depending on years.

You mean you and your sales rep didnt even confirm what transmission you had and/or that wasnt even a question regarding the TC??

The mother#!%#! never mentioned it so therefore I made the mistake and assumed that all maxima trannys were the same. The sales rep. (Andre) is the same guy that sold aaron92SE his TC.

During any main mechanical feature like this you should ALWAYS confirm the engine you have and the tranny number, if possible. Different engine's means to verify not to assume. Assuming is bad and I know from experience.

Strange...

Verifying what trasmission you had should have been the #1 priority for him seeing as it would effect which TC you got and in turn probably pricing and everything else from his end

When I ordered my TC from EdgeRacing, they knew everything about my car. Well, Andre knew everything. We talked for a good 20 minutes discussing my car. I wanted to make sure he didn't assume I have a 300zx motor in my car like everyone else assumes. Sorry dude, it sounds to me like you didn't confirm details before getting it built.

But Andre should have asked you what car you have. And if you told him, he is plenty smart enough to find out what tranny you have. I wonder what you told him exactly. B/c unless you specified that you had a 94 SE Maxima with the RE4F04V tranny and not the RE4F02A tranny, then I'm sure you got a TC for the VG tranny.
