ok, heres the deal...
i had gotten all of my belts changed in my car...but the problem is the timing belt was believed to be mistakenly not lined up correctly. now, i hear that theres a possibility that i may need new heads for the engine. my question is, whats cheaper, getting new heads installed, or getting a whole new engine (installed), one with around 50-70k on it? and my current engine has 153k on it...
Why not goo to the junkyard and buy some heads. I highly doubt that you'll need heads though because my engine has 232K miles on it and never once a problem. That brings us to another solution. Fix your timing at the expense of whoever put it on (Do I hear a lawyer) and have another trustworthy place give your heads a look. Hopefully you had this done at the dealership because they do have more experience with Nissan engines.

so why not go with a new engine? that way i can end with up practiically gettin a newer, fresher maxima...would the labor for this be just as much as the labor for putting in new heads?
I'll give you some advice.
Don't ever have work done at the place that quotes you the cheapest price especially if the difference in price is huge.
The better shops will charge more money because they normally have more invested than the cheaper shops.

BUT now my engine doesnt start!!
I don't think you have a sereous problem. If you can turn the engine over, and you don't hear RAP CRACK SMACk... Then there's no damage to the heads, most likely. There's alot that can stop a you ride from runnning. I just changed all my belts and timing. And it didn't start. It was because I forgot to plug in a wire the the distrubuter. It could be something that simple.
I ran with a slipped timing to a long time out of ignorance when i bought the car. I was off 2 teath on the backside cam.
But then... I have a VG, things are a little bit simpler. I wouldn't freak though.
