Question for maxima veterans.....

ok so here's the deal...

i thought my gas tank was trashed up and clogging my fuel filter...
i replaced it about 4 times now...everytime i replaced it my car would run good again... but the code i pulled from the ECU was the MAF sensor code every time.... so now i relized after putting another fuel filt. on and my car ran like sh#t again that it might be the MAF sens. i jiggled some wires around the MAF and my car ran good..then ran bad...i did the same thing and it ran good...

so would you think it's the MAF sensor or the wire harness? how can i tell....
how can i test it... any maxima guru's....your help is needed!!! please help!

The ecu is throwing the code for a reason...listen to the ecu.

It's either fuel, air or electrical in nature. I'm sure of it

ok... but understand why i was confused...befor i knew how to draw codes from the ecu i figured it was the fuel filter...when i replaced it...the car ran fine for about a month or so...now i just replaced it and the same day it ran like crap..that's why im thinking it's tha MAF. do you no how to test it?

Sounds likes a MAF or wiring issue...especially if ur throwung codes...if ur not to good with wires hava a professional look and all the connections to make sure they are good....if they seem to be ok then it prolly ur MAF....but if u jiggled the wires and ur idle change i would suggest looking real close at the harness that plugs to the MAF and loko for breaks in the wires

1. Turn ign switch OFF. Disconnect MAF sensor connector. Turn ign switch ON. Check voltage between terminal 3 and Ground. Should be ~ 12V.
2. With the ignition OFF and the MAF connector and ECM connector disconnected, check the continuity of ECM terminal 54 to MAF terminal 1. Repeat for ECM terminal 55 to MAF terminal 2. Continuity should exist.
Note: Check these while having someone wiggle the harness. Measurements are on the connector sides, not the sensor or ECM side.
