Trunk Lock Sensor?
Trunk Lock Sensor?
Long story short, I just got my VE tails from Mizeree_X today (Thanks!) and he also sent me a trunk lock and key since mine was fugged up. I took off my old centerpiece and replaced the lock and put on the VE centerpiece...and realized the lock was about half an inch from where it should be (not flush with the centerpiece). I felt around inside the trunk lid and then what looks to be some kind of sensor fell out...its hooked to a wire, and it looks like the mounting screws for it were broke (maybe when it was broken into?). I looked at it closer and realized it fit right into the bottom of the lock, and was what made it flush with the centerpiece, but I couldnt get it into the hole and behind it...so I just stuffed it back into the trunk lid, and used the pieces that broke off it to make the lock flush again...any insight on what this is? My guess is it's a sensor so the alarm brain knows when the trunk is opened...but that seems repetitive since I'm sure there's a sensor for the latch too...anyone?
I was thinking about it...but not sure if it'll work...is there any way I can bypass this sensor so that if I open the with the key and the alarm is engaged it wont' go off...but more I think about it I'll just have to get a new sensor
