Noobie questions...

Hi, i'm new here... got some questions for some of my first mods on my 91GXE, hope some of u experts here can help..

I've read that courtesy nissan offers FSTB for cheaps, but i couldn't find one for 3rd gen on their site.. I also read somewhere that the 5th Gen max's FSTB fits on a 3rd Gen. Is this true? Is a torque wrench neccesary for installation(cuz' i don't have one)? then i might have to let someone charge me an arm and a leg to install it for me. =(

I've got an exaust leak somewhere, and it ain't my y-pipe.. i took it to a muffler shop and they said it's one of the gasket being "totally gone". They're gonna charge me CDN$500 to fix it, with the replacement part being somewhere around CDN$360.. whoa. is it really that expensive?

Thx for the help....

FSTB -- get one off Ebay. I have a cheapo $10 one and it's fine, but get an Otto brand one if you want a little more style and substance to it.

As for the $500 gasket job, the only thing I can think of is that you have a cracked exhaust manifold or broken manifold studs and they are going to replace them. You really should ask them exactly what is broken and what they are replacing, because a regular exhaust gasket is $3US and the labor is $30US tops.

Jeff92se has a FSTB forsale I think (if he hasn't sold it already). You can just bolt it on, torque wrench isnt really required.

The gasket thing could be a y-pipe gasket or something. Red92MaxSE had that problem.
